Katonah Yoga® Practices for Mapping a Creative Life

Each season of a woman’s life brings change and has its own character and potential.

A woman’s body moves through several phases - from child, to adolescent, to adult, to elder - transforming continually over time like the cycles of a year.

Life begins in spring, full of innocence and possibility. In summer, we ripen and enter our fertile potential. As we move into the season of Autumn, temperatures shift and leaves fall off. It is a time of reflection and acceptance that includes within it the bounce and radiance of Spring and the joy of Summer. It is also a time of contemplation and the preparation for the wisdom of Winter, our culmination.

Through embodied Katonah Yoga® practices, breathwork, and creative exploration, we will work with the intelligence of nature and its patterns to create maps and recipes of personal agency.

The goal of our work is to provide you with a collection of tools and techniques to help empower and support you. It is also to help you uncover the knowledge embedded within each season for you to map a creative, abundant and fulfilling life.

Our Story

Heather came to Katonah Yoga® over a decade ago. As a filmmaker she quickly found a home in the rich theory that uses the imagination as a tool of potentiation and that offers templates to map the creative process.

Already a master yoga teacher, Cari found Katonah Yoga® and was immediately captivated by the integration of personal and great nature in the material as a way to connect individuals to themselves and the world.

Although they had known each other and practiced together for years through Katonah, it wasn’t until they began teaching in New York City at The Studio that their true friendship and kinship began. The more time they spent together, the more they realized the paths they were traveling were interconnected.

As women in midlife, going through both a creative renaissance and a complex physical metamorphosis, they saw the potential to change the narrative for women in all stages of their lives.

And that’s where the seeds of Bounty of Autumn were planted.
